TheatreFest – June 2024 News Flash

The closing dates for entries into this year’s Theatre Fest are fast approaching and we already have a number of entries from around the country.

But there is still plenty of time for groups and schools to get their presentations together and send through their entry forms.

Below is the link and the link to information about TheatreFest.

And as has been previously advised there are major changes to this years TheatreFest including ShowCase which has been become a stand-alone theatre event.

Teams that are invited to perform at Showcase will be awarded the following

  • The prestigious “Golden Koru” plaque (TNZs highest accolade)
  • Certificate of achievement for each participating team member
  • $250.00 per team (Drama Development Trust Award)
  • Book of Honour placement

The Playmarket Award: New Work from Aotearoa is a Pounamu donated by Nanette Wright, in recognition of Olga E Harding. The work entered must appear in TheatreFest, with the production being its premiere. Chosen separately by the TheatreFest Script Assessor. Entries sponsored by Playmarket, with a prize of $250 for the winning.
