Playwriting Competition
The federation encourages New Zealand playwrights with a playwriting competition linked to the Annual Festival of Community Theatre.

Liaison With Other Arts Organizations
The New Zealand Theatre Federation works with and alongside all other cognate bodies in New Zealand and overseas.

International Affiliation
Through its affiliation to the International Amateur Theatre Association (IATA), the federation can provide information on overseas festivals and activities.

Master Classes
When practicable the federation will arrange renowned theatre practitioners to conduct Master Classes in New Zealand.

Summer Schools
National Summer Schools for actors, directors, designers, tutors, and other facets of theatre are held from time to time.

Youth Theatre
Youth Theatre is a prominent feature of festivals and many groups enter competitively and appear regularly in the Finals.

Full Length Festivals
Full Length Festivals, organised at district level, can provide for experienced adjudication of a group's presentation.

Adjudicators
The federation works closely with the Association of New Zealand Drama Adjudicators (ANZDA) to ensure quality standards of adjudication are maintained and improved. A list of accredited adjudicators is available from National Office.

Overseas Festivals
The federation, through IATA, can provide information on overseas festivals.
